In the fall of 2021, the web editorial team was faced with a dilemma: We wanted to start another sew-along in 2022, but no one wanted to sew another sampler based on traditional blocks. After some preliminary considerations, we came up with the idea: We’ll sew a cell phone! With all the icons! We would design everything ourselves or call on the members of the Patchwork Guild to take part and design their own blocks and make them available for all our members. Initially we were planing with 31 icons, in the end, we wound up with 50 icons and templates.
