2017/2018 was the first time I came into contact with a sew-along organized by the Patchwork Guild of Germany. 12 different artists provided instructions on how they see their city. I chose Dresden at the time, although Munich would have been more obvious, but Munich had already been “taken”. As always, when you do something for the first time, you learn a lot: designing a concept, creating instructions, coordinating a group, putting instructions online and you discover: the whole process is fun – and a lot of work.
